Creating a Drawing/Submittal Package

Create a new drawing or submittal package when you need to circulate items to reviewers for their feedback or when you need to move some items from an existing package.

Normally the managing contact creates the new packages, but anyone with a security role that has permission to create the appropriate package type can also create them. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

ClosedTo create a new drawing or submittal package

  1. Open the appropriate register for the type of package that you are creating.

  2. Click New to create a new package using the default template.

    Click the arrow next to New to select another template. For more information, see "About Document Subtypes".

    A blank package document appears. Some information may already be filled in, depending on the template used.

  3. Complete the following required information:
  4. If you are performing a workflow action on the package, complete the information required for this action. For more information, see "Drawing/Submittal Package Workflow Actions" for a list of preconditions for a specific action.
  5. Add items to the package.

    6. For more information, see "Adding Documents to a Package". You can add the items at any time prior to the package moving to the In Review state.

  6. Create the review steps for the package.

    7. For more information, see "Creating Review Steps". You can create review steps now or at a later time. You can create review steps at any time prior to the package moving to the In Review state.

  7. Complete any other necessary information for the package. Headings marked with an asterisk (*) or highlighted fields are required. For more information, see "About Required Fields".

  8. Click Save.

    9. Proliance saves the package. Click Exit Edit Mode when done.

Tip:

  • You can also create new drawing or submittal packages directly from the Packages dialog box.

Note:

  • Be sure you've created the package from the correct register. For example, you cannot add submittals to a drawing package.
