Create a New Register View

You can create a personal or shared register view for any register in Proliance. As soon as you have created the register view, you can apply it to the register. Proliance will re-display the register according to the definitions in the view.

To create any register view, your security role must have permission to read the documents the register contains. To create a Shared view, your security role must also have permission to create shared views. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

To create a register view

  1. Open the register for which you want to create a view.
  2. Click Views > Manage Views.
  3. The views defined for the register appears.

  4. Click New.
  5. The General tab appears.

  6. In the Name field, type the name of the view that will appear on the Views menu.
  7. From the Type Options drop-down list, select whether the view is a Personal or Shared view.
  8. For more information on view types, see "About Register Views".

  9. Complete any other necessary information on the General, Columns, Sorting, Filters and Grouping tabs of the dialog box.
  10. Important: Before you can save the new view, you must add at least one column under the Columns tab.

  11. Click Save.
  12. The new view is added to the list of register views. If you wish, you can select the view to apply it to the register.

    What can I do now?

Tip:

  • In addition to creating register views from scratch, you can copy and edit existing views.

Note:

  • Shared views created for a register in a managed workspace are available for that register in any workspace within the portfolio.
  • A view's name must be unique for that view's type in the current register. However, a Personal view and a Shared view may have the same name and multiple users may name their Personal views identically.
  • You must edit the Views menu if you want the new view to appear on it. For more information, see "Editing the Views Menu".
