Register Views - Sorting
Note: The Sorting tab is not available for views
which apply to the Anticipated
Cost Report (ACR).
From the Sorting tab
of the Register Views dialog
box, specify how Proliance sorts the documents in the register.
Proliance primarily sorts the register based on the contents
of the first column listed in the "Sort
by the Following Fields" box. It sorts the register again based
on the contents of each subsequent column. Note that if you click on a
column heading in the register, the register sorts by this column and
then by the sort order applied to the register view.
Example
There are three contract documents in the register. The
register view displays three columns: Title, Invoicing Limit, and Current
State. The specified sort order for the view is Invoicing Limit [descending],
then Current State [ascending].
First, Proliance sorts the register based on the Invoicing
Limit, from highest to lowest value:
Next, Proliance sorts the register based on the Current
State, from lowest to highest value. The last two rows change place because
while the contracts have the same Invoicing Limit, the Phillips Building
contract has a lower Current State value (the 'P' in 'Pending' is considered
to be lower than the 'A' in 'Approved'). The Urban Freeway Extension contract
stays at the top of the list due to its higher Invoicing Limit.
To
specify the sort order for the register view
- Under Columns
Selected for this View, select a column by which you want to sort.

or highest to lowest (descending), by selecting the column title and clicking

Proliance selects Ascending by

- If necessary,
change the sorting sequence by selecting a column under Sort
by the following Fields and clicking the up arrow or the down arrow to reposition the column
name.

to save your changes.
