The Custom Print Layout document stores information about a custom layout file that you've created using Microsoft Office.
To view Proliance Custom Print Layouts (CPLs), you can download Microsoft® Word Viewer 2003 on your computer.
NOTE: CPLs can also be created and run using both Microsoft Word 2003 and 2007 Standard and Professional editions. In Microsoft Word 2007, ensure that you save the file in Word 2003 .xml format.
When using CPLs, please be aware that only data from the fields contained in the document type that you are printing will merge into the CPL Word/Excel file.
For example, when printing a Vendor Company document, only the data available on the Vendor Company document will merge. Data from another document type that is associated to the Vendor Company document, i.e., Location, Insurance, Staff, etc. documents will not be merged into the CPL. If you wish to print the data on the Insurance document, you must create the CPL using the schema from the Insurance document and select print from within the Insurance document, which will allow the data to be merged.
If you need to print out data that is contained across different document types, you will need to use another report printing option, i.e., Cognos or Crystal Reports.
The custom print layout can be used when printing a document or register report and it helps give your reports a consistent appearance.
Each layout can be designed for or associated with:
Any Proliance document and its corresponding register; for example: an RFI, a contract, or a drawing.
Any of the following Proliance registers: Notices, Security Roles, Security Categories, Company Roles, and Workspace Summaries.
You can set a custom print layout to be the default for its associated item.
Depending on how your workspaces are configured, custom print layouts may be available from the Portfolios, Organization and Workspaces work area.
A custom print layout's information is organized on the following pages:
