Releasing a Hold

You can release a hold at any time. If you release a hold before it has been triggered, the hold will not block any of its target documents. If you release a hold after it has been triggered, the hold is removed from the target documents. This means that the action that was previously barred will now be permitted. To release a hold, your security role must have permission to update holds. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

A released hold remains in the Holds register, with all of its details and history intact. This makes it easy for you to reactivate the hold at a later date if circumstances require it.

ClosedTo release a hold

  1. Open the Holds register.
  2. The list of all holds for the workspace appears.

  3. Select the Hold to release.
  4. The Main page of the hold appears.

  5. Click Edit.
  6. Click Workflow and select Release.
  7. Complete the workflow action. For more information, see "Performing a Workflow Action".

Proliance releases the hold for all documents listed in the Filtered Documents page. If necessary, you can reactivate the hold later.

Note:

  • Releasing a hold does not automatically move the held documents to previously held state. For example, if you were prevented from approving a contract because of a hold, the contract does not get automatically approved just because the hold was lifted—you must still go into the contract and approve it.
  • Releasing a hold does not guarantee that a document can continue processing. There may be other holds placed on the document. To determine whether a released document can be processed, check to see if there is a Hold tab present for the document.
