Reactivating a Hold

When a hold is released, it remains in the Holds register for reactivating at a later time. Reactivating an existing hold is faster than creating a new one, because all the hold details are already in place. A reactivated hold is effective immediately. Provided your security role has permission to update holds, you can reactivate any hold. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

It is strongly recommended that you review a hold's details first before reactivating, to ensure that the previous target documents and conditions are still valid. Use the following pages to verify the details of the hold:

ClosedTo reactivate a hold

  1. Open the Holds register.

  2. The list of all holds for the workspace appears.

  3. Select the Hold to reactivate.
  4. The Main page of the hold appears.

  5. Click Edit.
  6. Click Workflow and select Reactivate.

  7. Complete the workflow action. For more information, see "Performing a Workflow Action".

Proliance reactivates the hold for all documents listed in the Selected Documents and Filtered Documents pages.

Note:

  • Reactivating a hold does not retroactively hold any target document that may have been processed while the hold was released. For example, there was a hold against approving a certain contract. The hold was released and the contract was approved. Reactivating the hold will have no effect in this case, because the contract was already approved.
  • Reactivating a hold also continues its history.
