About Summary Clips

The summary clip section allows you to add additional, customized fields to your forms. Each line item in this section represents one field, with a Field Title and a Value. You can define summary clip field titles from template forms or forms, but you can only fill in the values when using forms in a workspace. Summary clip information is also included in workspace summaries, enabling you to add customized information to workspace summaries that normally is not contained in a Proliance document.

If you want to ensure that users fill in the summary clip, you can select Yes next to the Is Summary Clip Required field in the Revision Information section on the Main page of a form or template form.

From the Organization work area, a user adds summary clip information for a template form called Profit Workspaceion. This clip has two fields: Expected Profit and Actual Profit. The Is Summary Clip Required field is set to Yes.

Through the normal process of creating a plan, this user then creates a form in a Workspaces work area based on this template form. When filling in this form, users must enter data for these two summary clip fields before the form revision can be accepted.

This summary clip information is then included with the workspace summary as part of regular workspace reporting.

Each revision of a form stores independent values for each summary clip item. If the summary clip is required, all clip items must be filled in before the form revision can be accepted.

Summary clips are located on the Main page of a form.
