About Certifications
Proliance can record comprehensive information about the certifications
held by a company. Examples of certifications include: insurance, minority,
and professional. In order to assist users in charge of managing workspaces
to assign companies that have the correct certifications, you should ensure
that all certifications held by a company are defined in Proliance.
Note: The Certifications
document is only available for companies in the Organization and
Workspaces work area.
Information in a certification document is organized over
the following pages:
- Main: Contains all the commonly used information about a certification. For
more information, see "Certifications
- Main".
- Properties: Contains information about the Certification document itself, such as
the user who created the document and the workspace in which the document
was created. For more information, see "Document
Properties".
Additional certification information is also available on
the following tabs:
Scope of Certification Documents
in Proliance
It is important to note that the scope of
a certification document and where it will appear depends on where it
is defined in Proliance:
From
the Organization work area
Certifications defined in the Companies,
Org Companies, Business
Units register can be used in any workspace. However, any certifications
you create in the Organization work area will not appear in any workspace—even
on workspaces in which the company holding the certification is already
involved—unless you manually add the certification document.
Adding ensures that a link is maintained between certifications
in the Organization work area and the workspace. If you need to update information
for that certification later on, you need only enter it once in the Organization
work area, and then synchronize
it to all workspaces in which the certification has been added.
From
the Workspaces work area
Certifications in the Workspaces work area may have been
added to the workspace from companies in the Organization work area, or
they may have been specifically defined for the workspace. Certifications
created in a workspace have no relationship to the Organization work area
or any other workspace.
Certifications that have been exported to a workspace may
be periodically updated when changes made to the corresponding document
in the Organization work area are synchronized to the workspaces. Any changes
you have made to that certification in a workspace will be overwritten.
