A scope document can have one of several states. Each state indicates the position of the document in terms of its life cycle. When you perform workflow actions on the document, the state of the document changes accordingly.

Draft |
The scope document is not yet complete or ready to be used. The allocations in the scope document do not have any impact on budget and cost management calculations or the contents of the Anticipated Cost Report. |

Pending |
The scope document is complete and is ready to be approved and activated. Depending on the scope document's settings, the allocations in the scope document may or may not appear in the Anticipated Cost Report. |
3 |
The scope document is activated and information from the document appears in the Anticipated Cost Report. Unless you are assigned the "State Read-Only Fields - Scope" security role, you cannot edit this scope document. In this state, you can edit cost offset information and BCM line items only after the allocations have been handed-off. You cannot delete the scope document. |

Pending Approval

After reviewing the allocations, you can either approve the scope document, or return it to the Pending state for revision. Unless you are assigned the "State Read-Only Fields - Scope" security role, you cannot edit this scope document. Depending on the scope document's settings, the allocations in the scope document may or may not appear in the Anticipated Cost Report. |

Cancelled |
The scope document is preserved in its current form for future reference. Information from the scope document has no impact on Proliance reports and calculations. Unless you are assigned the "State Read-Only Fields - Scope" security role, you cannot edit this scope document. |
