Editing a Security Role

After creating a security role, you can edit it to ensure that it has the proper permissions to each document type in Proliance. Note that you need access to the security permission settings in order to edit roles.

To edit a security role

  1. Open the Roles register from the appropriate work area.
  2. For information on the contents of each Roles register and which one to use, see "About the Roles Register".

  3. Select the role to open.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Complete the necessary information for the document on the Role page.
  6. For more information on the fields for this page, see "Assigning Permissions to a Role".

  7. Click Save.
  8. Proliance saves the changes. These changes take effect immediately. If a user holding the role is currently logged on, the change takes effect the next time the user's screen is refreshed.

Tips:

  • To prevent tampering with the security in Proliance, make sure that only authorized roles have permissions to the Security Permissions settings. For more information, see "Restricting Access to Security".
  • When changing the permissions for a role, you may want to revise the role's description as well to reflect the updated role.
