About the Roles Register

The Roles register lists all of the security roles created for your company's staff members and contacts.

The roles displayed may differ depending on your current work area:

ClosedFrom the Organization work area

The Roles register in the Organization work area contains all roles available for use within that work area. When assigning roles to users in the Organization work area, you can choose from any of these roles.

These roles are not available to any portfolios or workspaces.

ClosedFrom the Portfolios work area

The Roles register can be accessed from two submenus in the Portfolios work area:

ClosedFrom the Workspaces work area

The Roles register in the Workspaces work area contains all roles available for use in the current standalone workspace. When assigning roles to users in a standalone workspace, you can choose from any of these roles.

The Roles register is only available in the Workspaces work area for standalone workspaces. The roles available to managed workspaces are set out in the Workspaces (Managed) submenu of the Portfolios work area.

  • For portfolios, the Roles register is pre-loaded with roles from the Portfolio Reference used to create the portfolio. For more information, see "Creating a New Portfolio".
