Deleting a Catalog Card Revision

When a catalog card revision is no longer needed in Proliance, you can remove it from the Catalog Card register. For example, you no longer require the file referenced by the catalog card revision in Proliance, or the physical object cataloged by the revision is no longer relevant to the workspace. Your security role must have permission to delete catalog cards. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

Deleting a catalog card revision permanently removes any associated file attachments from Proliance. However, the deletion does not affect files outside of Proliance. For example, deleting a revision does not affect the file on your local computer system that you originally uploaded.

You can delete a catalog card revision from any of the following places:

  1. Open the Catalog Cards register for the appropriate template.
  2. A list of the catalog card revisions for the default folder appears.

  3. Select the check box next to the catalog card revision to delete and then click Delete.
  4. — or —

    Open the catalog card revision to delete and click Delete The delete button..

    — or —

    Open the Revisions tab of a catalog card, select the check box next to the revision to delete, and then click Delete. You cannot use this method if no revisions have been created yet.

  5. Click Yes when prompted to confirm.
  6. Proliance deletes the catalog card revision.

Note:

  • Proliance does not renumber the revisions after a deletion, so it is possible to have gaps in the revision numbers of a catalog card after deletion. You can eliminate the gaps by editing the Revision Number; however, the system revision number cannot be changed.
