Proliance automatically creates an offsetting cost allocation when you add a new budget allocation to a cost account if the Auto-Create Offsetting Cost Lines setting on the Cost Account - Settings page has been enabled. This setting is enabled by default.
In addition to the automatic offsets, you can manually add budget offsets. You can do this by selecting a cost allocation that is not currently offsetting any budget allocation, or you can create a new cost allocation specifically for this purpose.
To manually create a budget offset
Open the Cost Accounts register.
Click the Line Items page.
Click Edit.
Select the budget allocation that you want to create an offset for, and then click Manage Offsets.
Proliance shows the cost allocations that are already offsetting the selected budget allocation. You can see the Code, Description, and ACR Column of the selected budget allocation in the Viewing Budget Line list.
—or—
Click Add Cost Line.
Adding an offset lets you select an existing cost account allocation from the Link Cost Lines as Offsets dialog box. Adding a cost line lets you create a new cost allocation in the grid.
—or—
Complete the columns for the new cost line. For more information, see "Cost Account - Line Items".
Proliance saves the document.
