About Instructions

Instruction documents contain specific information on a task or a document. An instruction can be used to request a quote for work or material that needs to be purchased. It may notify someone about a change in the workspace that potentially affects the budget. It can also instruct a contractor to proceed with a task.

• Open the Instructions register.

All instruction documents are listed in the Instructions register. Some of them may be associated with quotes. These are listed under the Instructions tab of the documents to which they are associated.

An instruction document's information is grouped under the following pages:

• Main: Contains a description of the instruction. This includes the instruction's state and number. For more information, see "Instruction - Main".
• Document References: Contains a list of all the workspace documents that are related to this instruction. For more information, see "Instruction - Document References".
• Line Items: Contains a list of items that are described in this instruction. For more information, see "Instruction - Line Items".
• Settings: Contains the display options and rules available for this instruction. For more information, see "Invoice - Settings".
• Properties: Contains information about the document itself, such as who created the document and the date when it was created. For more information, see "Document Properties".

• Project: Lists the projects the document is linked to. For more information, see "About the Projects Tab"

• References: Lists the other instructions that are also linked to the same quote. For more information, see "Instructions - References Tab".
• Workflow: Enables you to see where the document is in its lifecycle, who has already performed actions on the document, and who will receive notification when the document changes to a specific state. For more information, see "Workflow Tab".
• Activity Log: Records all the activities of the instruction, such as when it was saved, imported, exported, forwarded, or received. For more information, see "Activity Log Tab".
• Attachments: Contains a list of all the documents related to this instruction. For more information, see "Attachments Tab".
