About Conflict Resolution

Proliance handles a large volume of documents across many different workspaces and portfolios. Documents within a single workspace do not pose problems, because workspace team members work on a common set of workspace documents. However, documents exchanged between workspaces, portfolios, and organizations, may cause conflicts. For example, Workspace A refers to RFI #123, but Workspace B has no record of this. What should happen when RFI #123 is sent to Workspace B? This is where conflict resolution comes in.

When Proliance cannot process a document for whatever reason, it places a notice in the Unresolved register under the My Notices menu of the appropriate recipients. Anyone with permission to access this register can then use the Conflict Resolution Wizard to attempt to resolve the conflict.

Note:

  • You must resolve conflicts in a document before the document can be accepted into Proliance.
  • If Proliance could not deliver a document because of an unknown recipient, it will place a notice in the sender's Undeliverable register instead. The sender must then correct the address manually before trying again. The Conflict Resolution Wizard is not used in this instance.
