Adding a Calendar to a Workspace

You can add any calendar created at the organization to any number of workspaces. This is a quick method of populating workspaces with a central calendar that is controlled by the organization. The calendars added to a workspace cannot be modified from within the workspace. All changes must be made on the organization calendar; these changes automatically flow through to the workspace calendars. This prevents unauthorized changes to the calendar.

Alternatively, you can import an organization calendar into a workspace. This process is the same thing, only from the workspace's perspective. For more information, see "Importing Calendars from the Organization".

You can only add calendars in the Active state.

To add a calendar to a workspace

  1. Open the Calendars register from the Organization work area.
  2. Select the calendar to be added to a workspace.
  3. Only calendars in the Active state can be exported.

  4. Choose Tools > Add to Workspace.
  5. —or—

    From the document, select Options and then select Add to Workspace.

    The Calendar Export Wizard appears.

  6. Verify that the correct calendar has been selected, then click Next.
  7. Select the check box next to each workspace that should receive the calendar, then click Finish.
  8. Proliance confirms that the calendars were exported successfully. If you do not receive a successful export message, please see your system administrator.

  9. Click Close to exit the wizard.

Tip:

  • If you want to use an organization calendar in a workspace yet have it editable, you should create the calendar in the workspace and select the organization calendar as the base calendar. For more information, see "Creating a New Calendar".
