Setting SAML Federated Authorization for a User

Using SAML Federated Authorization, users can bypass the need to manually log on to Proliance by associating their Proliance user accounts with an external identity provider, such as a corporate portal. Using this arrangement, Proliance users can sign in using their corporate portal account and then access Proliance without having to use a Proliance-specific login or set of credentials.

Single sign-on using SAML federated authorization must be enabled separately for each user.

To use this feature, keep in mind the following information:

To set how user accounts log on to Proliance, your security role must have permission to update accounts. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

Important: Before you can use SAML single sign-on login for any of your users, you must configure your Proliance installation using the Proliance Local Admin application on the Proliance server. You can find instructions on how to do this in the Proliance Administration Guide.

To set SAML single sign-on for a Proliance user

  1. Open the Contacts or Staff register from the Organization work area.
  2. — or —

    Open the Contacts or Staff tab from the Organization work area.

  3. Select a contact or staff document and click the Account page.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. On the Account page, in the Details section, click Edit Account.
  6. In the Edit User Account dialog, in the Credential Type field, select External Identifier.
  7. In the External Identifier Name field, enter the account name for the user on the external identity provider.
  8. Click Save.

Proliance saves your settings.
