Creating an Integration Account

Create an integration account for active staff members and contacts that you want to associate with external accounts. Integration accounts are used to establish connections with external accounts in order to communicate and exchange data with external applications. Integration accounts cannot be used to conventionally log on to Proliance. You can create an integration account using any staff member or contact in the Organization work area.

To create an integration account, your security role must have permission to create and update accounts. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

Note: You can only create an integration account from the Organization work area.

To create an integration account

  1. Ensure that the staff or contact has been added to the system. For more information, see "Creating a New Staff Member" or "Creating a New Contact"
  2. Open the Contacts or Staff register from the Organization work area.
  3. - or -

Open the Contacts or Staff tab from the Organization work area.

  4. Select a contact or staff document and click the Account page.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Next to the Account Type field, click Create Account and select Integration Account from the Edit User Account dialog box.
  7. Complete any additional information in the dialog box. For more information, see "Create User Account Dialog Box ".

  8. Expand the System Integration category and complete the following information:
  9. Expand the Security category and then select a security category for the account.
  10. Add or remove security roles for this account.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Proliance saves the new account.

Tip:

  • For enhanced security, you can prevent an external account from bypassing the security system by assigning its Integration Account a role that has no permissions to Security Permissions. Otherwise, an external account will be able to change its role (for example, to Administrator), possibly compromising the security of Proliance.
Note:
  • For more information on using integration accounts and external applications with Proliance, see the "Integration Account and SDK" document in the "VBSampleClient.zip" file, commonly located in the following path (where '<x:>' is the drive where Proliance is installed):
  • <x:>\Portfolio Files\Meridian Systems\Proliance\WebServices\gateway\help\
