The Hold document can have several states in Proliance. Each state indicates where the hold is in its life cycle in Proliance. When you perform certain actions on the hold, the state of the hold changes accordingly.

Draft |
A new hold has been created, but has not been activated. A Draft hold does not block any documents. For more information, see "Creating a New Hold". |

Active |
The hold has been activated and will be able to block all documents listed on the Selected Documents page or chosen by the Filtered Documents page. The typical hold document remains in this state for most of its life cycle. |

3 |
Released |
The responsible user has released the hold. The hold document is still present in Proliance, but is no longer able to block any documents. You can reactivate the hold at any time. For more information, see "Releasing a Hold". |
