Using the Batch Uploader

The Catalog Card Creation Wizard contains a batch file uploader tool that you can use to upload multiple files from your local computer in a single process. These files are added to a queue from which you can choose to create new catalog cards.

The batch file uploader tool requires that Microsoft Silverlight be installed on your computer. If you do not already have Silverlight installed, you will be prompted to download and install the software when you start the batch file uploader tool.

Note:

When downloading Silverlight you may encounter the following Security Warning dialog if Proliance is hosted on a secure server:
"Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely? This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS connection, which could compromise the security of the entire webpage."

When you see this Security Warning dialog, click No. Otherwise, Silverlight will not be installed.

To upload multiple files to a queue using the batch uploader tool:

In the left-hand navigation menu, under Catalog Cards, select the folder where the new catalog cards will be created.

Click Tools and then Catalog Card Creation Wizard.

Select the projects to link with the new catalog card documents and click Next.

Note: If you are not using projects, the wizard skips this step and starts on the next step.

Select a template for the new documents and click Next.
Click Add to Queue...

The Add Files to Queue dialog displays.

In the Add Files to Queue dialog, click Select.

The Open dialog displays.

In the Open dialog, navigate to the files you want to upload and then select them.

Note: You can select multiple files at one time by pressing CTRL while selecting the files to be uploaded.

Click Open.

The Open dialog closes and the files to be uploaded are listed in the Add Files to Queue dialog.

In the Add Files to Queue dialog, verify the files to upload. To remove files from the list, select them and click Remove.
Click Upload to Queue.
In the Add Files to Queue dialog, click Close.

The Add Files to Queue dialog closes.

Click Select from Queue...

The Select Uploaded File dialog displays.

In the Select Uploaded File dialog, click Add beside each file you want to create a document for.

Click Add All to create a document for every file listed.

The added files display in the list at the bottom of the dialog box. To remove a file from the list, click Remove beside the file, or click Remove All to remove all the files from the list .

Click OK.

A document line item for each added file is displayed in the wizard.

For each line item, enter a document name in the Title field.
Click Finish

The wizard displays with a list of created documents.

Click Close.
