Using the Easy Upload Button

The Easy Upload button in the Catalog Card register can be used to quickly upload bulk file attachments in Proliance while automatically creating corresponding catalog card documents with default settings. One catalog card is created for each uploaded file. The resulting catalog cards will link to the uploaded files as Source files, and will appear in the Catalog Card register. The name of the new catalog cards will be the same as the Windows file name of the uploaded file attachment.

The Easy Upload button appears in the Catalog Card register as an Upload button with a paperclip icon.

When creating new catalog cards using Easy Upload, the Easy Upload process ignores the configured required fields in the initial workflow state of the catalog card subtype. The resulting catalog card documents have the following properties:

• Title: The file name including the file extension, with a hyphen and a number that indicates the revision.

• Subtype: The same as the current Catalog Card subtype register.

• Name: The file name including the file extension.

• Rename File: Set to False.

• Revision Number: The current revision number for the document.

• Auto-populate Title: Set to True.

• Auto-populate Number: Set to True.

To upload files using the Easy Upload button:

• Open the Catalog Cards register.

2. Select the folder where the new catalog cards will be created.

• Click Upload.

4. In the Choose File to Upload dialog, select the files to upload.

• Click Open.

The new catalog card entries are displayed in the Catalog Card register.

The upload process will fail if any of the following conditions exist:

• You do not have permission to create catalog cards of the current subtype.
• You do not have permission to upload source files for the current subtype in the initial state.
• You are restricted to certain projects and do not have access to the related project.
• You do not have read permission to a similarly-named revision series already uploaded.

Revisions

When you click Upload and select a file that matches the series identifier (name) of an existing catalog card within the currently-selected folder, and you have access to that latest revision, a new revision of the catalog card is created within the same folder with the following information:

• Source File: The name of the new file.
• Revision Number:The incremented revision number.
