Browsing Sharepoint Sites

Proliance provides you with the ability to browse any Sharepoint site from within the application, providing that you have defined the site for the particular work area you are currently in. This feature provides the same functionality as if you were browsing the site via a standard Internet Explorer browser. This can be useful, as it as it allows you to work within the Proliance and Sharepoint applications simultaneously.

ClosedTo Browse a Sharepoint Site from within Proliance

  1. Open the Content Management register.
  2. A list of available Sharepoint sites (the Description or if none entered, then the actual URL) for the work area you are in is displayed.
  3. Click on the Sharepoint site you wish to Browse, and if your security credentials are validated, then the Sharepoint page is displayed in the right hand part of the screen.
  4. If Sharepoint is unable to validate your credentials, then it displays a log-in dialog box requesting valid User-name and Password for the site you are trying to access.
  5. Once logged in, you have access to all the Sharepoint features that you would have if you were browsing the site in a separate browser window.

Tip:

  • Ask your network administrator to synchronize your Proliance and Sharepoint security details so that accessing and browsing Sharepoint from within Proliance will become seamless and transparent.
  • This will also be useful if you plan to attach Sharepoint held files to Proliance documents.
