Editing an Allocation

You can edit an allocation only from the document that controls the allocation. You must have permission to edit the controlling documents and the document state must allow editing. You can edit an allocation regardless of whether it was manually created by you or another user or automatically created by Proliance.

Proliance does not let you change the amount of an allocation if both of the following conditions are true:

The lines are out of balance if the sum of the Amount values from all the allocations does not equal the controlling line item's Scheduled Amount, Applied Expense, or Applied Revenue.

When you edit a budget allocation in a cost account, Proliance automatically copies certain changes to the budget allocation's offsetting cost allocations. The changes that Proliance copies are specified by the budget offset settings. For more information, see "Budget Offset Settings".

 To edit an allocation

  1. Open the document that contains the allocation you wish to edit.
  2. Click either the Schedule of Values or (Budget/Cost) Line Items page, and then click Edit.
  3. Select the allocation to edit and then click the box containing the value to change.
  4. Make the appropriate edits.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Proliance save your changes.

Note:

  • Proliance may slightly modify an amount after it has been edited due to the effects of currency precision. For more information, see "Controlling Currency Precision".
  • Proliance creates a transaction to record the editing of an allocation. For more information, see "About Transactions".
