Performing an Action: No Notification

When you perform a workflow action, you can do it without notifying anyone else. This is most often the case if you are also responsible for the document in its next workflow state or if you are responsible for the document throughout its life cycle.

To perform a workflow action without sending a notification

  1. Open the document that you will be performing the workflow action on.
  2. Click the workflow action button at the top of the page, if one is present.
  3. — or —

Click Workflow and select an action.

The Execute Workflow dialog box appears.

  4. Verify that no names are shown in the Execute Workflow dialog box.
  5. If there are names, click Clear Fields to remove them. Names next to Hcc: cannot be removed here. In other words, these people must receive notice about a document's state change. To remove 'Hcc:' names, you must edit the workflow plan through Proliance Local Admin. To learn more, see "Enter State Tab for a Workflow State" in the Proliance Local Admin on-line help.

  6. Click Execute.
  7. Proliance changes the state of the document. If the state change is not successful, Proliance will list the prerequisites to help you identify what needs to be corrected.

Tip:

  • You can choose to notify yourself of this action so that you can use your notices as your To-Do list.
