Once you have downloaded the XML schemas, you can attach them to a Word document. If you plan on making a single style layout, you can attach multiple schemas to your document. You would include multiple schemas if you wanted to create cross document links. When including multiple schemas, you must know in advance which schemas are related to each other and attach all these schemas to the Word document. You can see how documents in Proliance are linked together in the Document Model documentation.
Cross document links in single style layouts are supported as of the Proliance 2.3 release. If you already have existing CPLs from a prior version and would like to add cross document links to these layouts, you need to get updated versions of the schemas files and reattach the physical file to the Word document. Note that when updating the physical files in Word, the file may not be immediately recognized. If this is the case, you can save the physical file to another folder and then point the CPL to the file in the other folder. Note that you should update only the physical file - if you reattach the schema, you will lose the existing XML tags in the document.
