Creating an Activity Code Group

Create an activity code group so you can use the activity codes in your schedule. The activity code group can be used in multiple schedules as needed.

Before creating and defining an activity code group, ensure that you have defined the activity codes lookups.  For more information, see "About Activity Codes".

Your security role must have permission to create activity code groups.  For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

To create an activity code group

  1. Open the Activity Code Group register.
  2. Click New to create a new Activity Code Group document.
  3. A blank Activity Code Group appears.

  4. In the Title field, type a title for the activity code group.
  5. In the Number field, type a string of characters that uniquely identifies this activity code group, or leave it blank if Proliance is configured to supply one.
  6. In the Active column, select the check box next to the code that you want to use in the activity code group.
  7. In the Sequence column, select the position in the advanced code in which the activity code should appear.
  8. For example, select "Third" if you want the selected activity code to be the third activity code from the left in the assembled advanced code.

Note: You must select a sequence for each activity code before the activity code group becomes available for new and existing schedules.

  9. In the Separator column, select the symbol that should appear between the selected activity code and the next one in the assembled advanced code.
  10. For example, you could select the forward slash ( / ) symbol to separate the third activity code and the fourth one in the advanced code.

Note: Separators within an individual activity code must be edited in the Lookup editor.

  11. Repeat steps 5 to 7 until you have selected all the activity codes to use in your schedule.
  12. Click Save.
  13. Proliance saves the document.

    What can I do now?

Note:

  • While configuring the advanced code, you can see a preview of the advanced code at the bottom of the page.
  • You can preview the available content for a pre-defined activity code by clicking the Magnifying Glass icon The magnifying glass icon..
  • It is not possible to assign more than one activity code to the same sequence position.
