Rename a Register View

You can rename any of your Personal views and any Shared register view. The new name of the view must be unique for that view's type in the current register. However, a Personal view and a Shared view may have the same name and multiple users may name their Personal views identically. Be aware that if you rename a Shared view, the change will affect every user of the view.

To rename any register view, your security role must have permission to read the documents the register contains. To rename a Shared view, your security role must also have permission to update shared views. For more information, see "About Security Permissions".

To rename a register view

  1. Open the register for which you want to rename a view.
  2. From the Views drop-down, select Manage Views, then click Apply.
  3. The views defined for the register appear.

  4. In the list of register views, select the view that you want to rename.
  5. Click Rename.
  6. The Rename View dialog box appears.

  7. In the Name field, type the new name of the view. The new name must be unique for that view's type in the register.

Note:

  • Renaming a shared view in a managed workspace also renames the view in every other workspace in the portfolio.
