Planning Objects - Expenses Tab
The planning object's
Expenses tab contains the information on external and internal
cost for your planning object. The Expenses tab is displayed if there
are resources assigned to the planning object.
The fields below are displayed if the Cost
Only check box is not selected
for an assignment. If the Cost Only check box is selected, the work value
is not tracked for the assignment. For more information on Fixed Cost
and Cost Only, see "Cost
and Fixed Cost Resource Assignments".
These fields may be displayed as read-only
or editable based on the type of planning object you are viewing.
Internal
Expenses
If the Fixed Cost check box is
cleared for an assignment and the Internal Rate Type is set to
Hourly, then:
- Actual Internal Expenses:
Displays the internal expenses to date, calculated as
Actual Internal Expenses = Actual Internal Rate * Actual
Work.
- Remaining Internal Expenses:
Displays the remaining internal expenses to date, calculated as
Remaining Internal Expenses = Remaining Internal Rate
* Remaining Work.
- Total Internal Expenses:
Displays the total internal expenses for the planning object, calculated
as
Total Internal Expenses = Actual Internal Expenses +
Remaining Internal Expenses.
If the Fixed Cost check box is
cleared for an assignment and the Internal Rate Type is set to
Daily, then:
- Actual Internal Expenses:
Displays the internal expenses to date, calculated as
Actual Internal Expenses = Actual Internal Rate * Actual
Duration in days.
- Remaining Internal Expenses:
Displays the remaining internal expenses to date, calculated as
Remaining Internal Expenses = Remaining Internal Rate
* Remaining Duration in days.
- Total Internal Expenses:
Displays the total internal expenses for the planning object, calculated
as
Total Internal Expenses = Actual Internal Expenses +
Remaining Internal Expenses.
If the Fixed Cost check box is selected for an assignment,
then you can enter the internal expenses manually and these values are
kept throughout the life of the assignment.
For tasks, the expenses are the sum of the assignments for
that task. For summaries, the expenses are the sum of the assignments
in a summary.

cleared for an assignment and the External Rate Type is set to
