As a manager, approving a schedule and its planning objects indicates that you accept any changes that have been made to the schedule. You can approve a schedule when new planning objects or schedules are created, or when changes are made to a schedule or its planning objects. For more information, see "Approving a Schedule and Planning Objects".
Note: Currently, the Approved state on the schedule document does not approve the planning objects in the Gantt.
Approval can be set for:
You can approve planning objects individually. When you approve a workspace, all tasks in this workspace are approved as well.
When approval is required, the “New Task Not Yet Approved” and “Modified After Approved” symbols appear to the left of the planning object. A schedule or planning object needs to be approved when any changes are made to tasks, milestones, summaries, or the schedule, or when a resource is assigned or removed from the task. When you approve a schedule or summary, all tasks in this schedule or summary are approved as well.
Note: The CPM Gantt always displays the approved schedule.
