The Main page contains the details of the instruction document. These details are grouped under the following headings. The instruction needs to be in edit mode before you can modify the fields.
The name of the company that will be paying for the work that is requested
in the instruction document. You can edit the name of the company under
the Linked Information section.
The currency used in this instruction. You can change this currency
under the Settings
page.
Indicates the type of instruction that is available in this document.
The are five types of instructions: Price Only, Proceed Notify if Cost,
Proceed No Cost, Info, and Special. For a description on these cost types
or to change the cost type of an instruction, refer to the Details
section.
The title of the instruction that is used to identify this document.
You can edit the title under the Details
section.
Indicates the current state
of the document.
: A string of characters that uniquely identifies this instruction document
among your workspace's other documents. You can edit the Number
under the Details section.
:
A link to the quote that was received in response to the instruction.
Click this link to open the quote. To change this quote, refer to the
Linked Information section.
The name of the company that is responsible for producing the work as
per the instruction document. You can edit the name of the company under
the Linked Information section.
The date when a response to the instruction is expected. You can edit
this date under the Dates section.
The calculated cost of all the line items in this instruction. You can
edit this value by modifying the line item values on the Line
Items page.
The Project section displays a simplified version of the information available on the Projects tab. Use this section to quickly view a list of projects currently linked to the document, and to create, read and delete project links in edit mode. Information displayed in the project section is also available on the Projects tab, and any changes you make in the Project section is synchronized with the Projects tab.

Using the Project section, you can set the current document's project linking status to:
Select to remove all project links for the current document. You can only remove project links if you have the appropriate role security permissions, and your contact document has a link to the same projects.
Select to display a box where you can enter a single project link for the current document. Click the Magnifying Glass icon
Select to display a box where you can enter multiple project links for the current document. Click the Magnifying Glass icon
Select to link the current document to all projects within the current workspace.
The current status of project linking is displayed in the section header so that you can quickly scan project status with all the sections on the Main page collapsed. The document must be in edit mode before you can update information in the Project section.
Instruction Type:
Select the type of instruction being described in the document:
The current state of the
document.
Type a description of the instruction document in this area.
Describe any special instructions in this area.
Type a string of characters that uniquely identifies this instruction
document, or leave it blank if Proliance is configured to supply one.
You can configure
the format by using Proliance
Local Admin. For details, refer to "Editing the Number Format"
in the Proliance Local Admin on-line help.
Select Yes to indicate that
you are expecting a quote for this instruction,
otherwise select No.
Select Yes to indicate that
you are expecting an "order of magnitude" quote, otherwise select
No. This setting is for informational
purposes only.
For the recipient of the instruction, type a response to the instruction
document in this area.
Type a title for the instruction document. The Title
is required.
This section contains a link to the related quote, to the awarding and receiving company, and to contact information. To include links to other workspace-related documents, use the Instruction - Document Preferences page.

Awarding Contact:
Click the Magnifying Glass icon
to select the contact person from the
awarding company. You can edit this name only when the instruction is
in the Draft state.
Proliance will add the name of the awarding contact to the appropriate recipient fields (To:, CC:, HCC:) in the Workflow tab during a pending state change, if this instruction document subtype has been set up to use initiating participants. To learn how to use the participants feature, see "Configuring Document Workflow States" in the Proliance Local Admin on-line help.

Receiving Contact:
Click the Magnifying Glass icon
to select the contact from the receiving
company.
Proliance will add the name of the receiving contact to the appropriate recipient fields (To:, CC:, HCC:) in the Workflow tab during a pending state change, if this instruction document subtype has been set up to use receiving participants. To learn how to use the participants feature, see "Configuring Document Workflow States" in the Proliance Local Admin on-line help.
Enter the date when you submitted the instruction document. Proliance
automatically inserts the current date when an instruction's state changes
from a Draft state to the Instruction Submitted or Closed
states.
Enter the date when you received a quote in response to this instruction
document. This quote has a Draft
or Issued state.
Enter the date when you are expecting a response to the instruction
document.
Enter the date when you sent a response to the instruction. Proliance
automatically inserts the current date when the instruction's state changes
to the Response Submitted state.
The date when you received a quote in response to the instruction document.
