About the Categories Register
The Categories
register lists all of the security
categories created for your company's staff members and contacts.
The categories displayed may differ depending on your current work area:
From
the Organization work area
The Categories
register in the Organization work area contains all categories available
for use within that work area. When assigning
categories to users in the Organization work area, you can choose from
any of these categories.
These categories are not available to any portfolios or workspaces.
From
the Portfolios work area
The Categories register
can be accessed from two submenus in the Portfolios work area:
- Portfolio:
The Categories register in
the Portfolio submenu of the Portfolios
work area contains all categories available for use in the current portfolio.
When assigning categories
to users in a portfolio, you can choose from any of these categories.
These categories are not available to any other portfolio or any of the portfolio's
workspaces.
- Workspaces (Shared):
The Categories register in
the Workspaces (Shared) submenu
of the Portfolios work area contains all categories available for use in
the current portfolio's workspaces. When assigning
categories to users in one of these workspaces, you can choose from any
of these categories.
These categories are not available from within the portfolio itself, or to
any workspaces other than those belonging to the portfolio.
From
the Workspaces work area
The Categories
register in the Workspaces work area contains all categories available for
use in the current standalone workspace. When assigning
categories to users in a standalone workspace, you can choose from any of
these categories.
The Categories
register is only available in the Workspaces work area for standalone workspaces.
The categories available to portfolioworkspaces are set out in the Workspaces (Shared) submenu of the Portfolios
work area.
Each of the columns displayed in this register shows information
taken from any of the security category pages. The columns displayed depend
on the current view.
