Exporting Plan Packages

You can copy any plan package from the organization to a workspace by exporting it. Once a group is exported, the workspace can manage its own copy of the plan package without affecting the version at the organization.

Note: Before you can export a plan package, it must have an Active state and contain only Active standard plans.

Exporting plan packages is the quickest way to set up packages for a large number of workspaces.

To export a plan package to a workspace

  1. Open the Plan Packages register from the Organization work area.
  2. The list of Plan Packages defined by the organization appears.

  3. Select the check box next to the group that you want to export.
  4. Only plan packages in the Active state can be exported. You can select as many plan packages as necessary.

  5. Click Tools > Export selected.
  6. The Export Wizard appears, listing the packages that will be exported. If you selected a package in step 2 that is not in the Active state, it will not be listed in the wizard.

  7. Follow the steps in the wizard to export the plan packages.
  8. Proliance confirms that the export is successful.

When the export is complete:

Tip:

  • You can also copy plan packages to a workspace by importing them from the workspace side. For more information, see "Importing Plan Packages".

Note:

  • You cannot export a plan package to the same workspace more than once. However, you can export the same plan package to any number of different workspaces.
  • While the export immediately sends the plan package and standard plans to the workspace, the standard forms are not exported until their associated standard plan is used to create plans in use. For more information, see “Creating a New Plan".
