Copying Workspace Data
When you create a standalone or managed workspace, you can
choose to copy over the referenced workspace's document and service information.
To copy the workspace reference data, you need to select the Copy Workspace Data check box
when creating a new workspace.
This checkbox is located on the Main page of the Workspace Properties document.
The following configuration information will be copied to
the new workspace from the referenced workspace regardless
of whether the Copy Workspace Data
check box is checked:
- Security roles
- Security categories
- Custom nomenclature
- Lookups
- Document subtype
templates
- Custom Print Layouts
The following information will also
be copied from the reference workspace if you have selected the Copy Workspace Data check box:
- Documents for which
there can only be one per workspace (for example, Currency, Limits of Authority,
Cost period and Taxes). If one of these documents already exist in the
new workspace, they will be overwritten by the one from the reference workspace.
- FMS files
- Document instant
permissions
- Workspace periods
- Synchronization relationships
- If a document in the referenced workspace was previously synchronized
with the Organization, this synchronization relationship is also copied.
The following are not
copied to the new workspace:
- Notices
- Activity Logs
- Personal views
- Any documents created
as part of the Workspace Creation (e.g., Management plans and linked Catalog
Cards)
