Proliance displays the Edit User Account dialog box when you click the Edit Account button on the Account page.
Account Types
The account type determines what purpose the contact or staff member has within Proliance. If you are in the Edit User Account Dialog box, it means the user account already exists, and the account type must be a User Account or an Integration Account.
The most frequent reason to change the account type is to remove the user account. This is accomplished by setting the account type to None.
There are three possible options for an account type:
From the Edit User Account dialog box, changing the account type to None will remove the existing user account from Proliance. The user (or integration) will no longer be able to log in to Proliance.
For information on selecting this option when an account already exists for this user, see "Removing an Account".
User Account is the most common type of account.
Organization Access: Select or clear this check box to set whether the account can access the Organization work area. If a user is denied access to the Organization work area, the Organization option is removed from the Proliance home page.
User Name: For a User Account, you can change the account’s User Name if desired. This name could be the user's full name, or it could be an abbreviation. You may use letters and numbers, but spaces and symbols are not permitted. Hyphens and underscores are permitted. The following are examples of valid user names: John_Smith, JSmith27, Jane-Doe. For Integration Accounts, this field is replaced with Organization Name.
Credential Type
The Credential Type field determines whether Proliance validates user credentials with its own list of users, or accesses an external identity provider to determine whether the user can log onto Proliance.
Select Proliance password to use Proliance internal list of users to validate the user's credentials when logging on. The following fields appear:
Must change password next login: Select to require the user to change their password the next time they log in.
Password maximum age settings : For the current user, select one of the following options to maintain or override the Password Policy settings for the organization:
- Use Org policy. Select this option to continue enforcing the organization password policy for this user
- Password never expires. Select this option to allow the user to continue using their current password indefinitely.
- Set user specific maximum number of days. Select this option to require that the user change their password within a certain number of days before their account becomes locked. In the days field, enter the maximum number of days.
Select External Identifier to validate the user's credentials with an external identity provider when the user logs on. Proliance must be configured to use SAML single sign-on and set up to work with the external identity provider.
External Identifier Value: Enter the unique identifier that the external identity provider will return to Proliance after the user is authenticated.
Select Integration Account when you want to change the current User Account to an Integration Account. This associates the current Proliance account with an external account or other integration adapter. This enables you to establish connections with that account in order to communicate and exchange data with external applications. This option applies to contacts and staff members that have been created for the sole purpose of connecting with external accounts. Integration accounts cannot be used to conventionally log on to Proliance.
To access the Edit User Account dialog box, your security role must have permission to read and update accounts. You may also need permission to either create or delete accounts, depending the actions you take in this dialog box:
