About the Companies Register

The Companies register lists a particular type of company, depending on which Contact Info menu item you've selected in a work area.

The Companies register can be accessed from three places in the Organization work area:

Under Vendor Companies, this register shows all of the companies that have, or have had, a business relationship with your organization.
Under Org Companies, this register shows all the companies that belong to your organization (for example, subsidiaries).
Under Business Units, this register shows all the business units that have been established for your organization.

To see all the companies that have been involved in a particular workspace, you must access the Companies register from the Workspaces work area.

The Companies register in the Workspaces work area shows all the companies added to the current portfolio. In the Portfolios work area, company information is only for reference and is identical to the information in the Organization work area.

All exported companies, regardless of their initial type, appear as Company documents in the Companies register.

The Companies register in the Workspaces work area shows all the companies involved in the current workspace. These are external companies, org companies and business units that have been exported to a workspace.

Each of the columns displayed in these registers shows information taken from any of the company pages. The columns displayed depend on the current view.

The following table lists the specialized commands available in the Company register. For more information about the standard commands available in the Company register, see "Proliance Registers". Available commands are determined by the permissions in your security role.
