Inserting XML Elements in Excel
This topic provides detailed information on how to insert
XML elements in your Excel document,.
Elements inserted into your worksheet require two table cells:
- the upper cell contains
the caption, which is the element name by default
- the lower cell is
reserved for the value, which Proliance fills in when you print a document
using the layout
To
insert XML elements
- Select the cell(s)
into which you are inserting an element.
- Decide which
field to display when this layout is used to print a report and then locate
the name of its corresponding XML Element in the XML
Source task pane. You may need to expand the XML
Map to see the structure of the XML if you want to insert an element
from an item list.
- Double-click
on the element in the task pane to insert it into the worksheet at the
selected location.
- Optionally rename
the captions in the worksheet. This will not affect the XML mapping.
- Format the cells
as appropriate (font style, size, shading, etc.).
- Optionally, add
any extra text to the worksheet that you want included when this layout
is used to print a report.
