Linking Planning Objects in the Gantt Chart

Use the following steps to create links in the Gantt chart.

To link planning objects in the Gantt chart

1. Open the Gantt chart.
2. Select the bar of the predecessor planning object until the cursor displays as a cross.

As you move the cursor over the Gantt pane, a red line drawn from the middle of the selected planning object.

3. Move the cross to the bar for the successor task and click the left mouse button.
4. The New Link dialog box appears. Complete the following information:
• Link Type: Select a link type.
• Lag: Optionally enter the number of days lag. To add a delay between the start or finish of the tasks, enter a positive lag value. To show overlap, enter a negative lag value.
5. Click Create.
