About Activity Codes

Activity codes are used to organize planning objects in the Gantt by activity. Before you can use activity codes in the Gantt:

• Activity codes must be grouped in an Activity Code Group document. Activity codes must be defined as hierarchical lookups at the workspace level before they can be added to code groups. For more information on defining lookups, see "About the Lookup Editor".
• Activity codes must be assigned a sequence
• The Activity Code Group must be selected in the Schedule document.

Once each planning object has been assigned one or more activity codes, you can use the codes to organize and group, summarize, filter and sort the Gantt according to the activity code. For more information on changing the view in the Gantt, see "Applying Views, Filters, Sorting, or Grouping".
