Limited Authority Dialog Box
The Limited Authority dialog box appears when you attempt to perform
a workflow action that conflicts with the limits of authority defined
for the workspace. This conflicts occurs when the value of the document
exceeds your security role's Authorization
Limit for this particular document/state combination, or when your
security role is not authorized to perform the state change. Users with
a sufficient Override Limit can
choose to override their authorization limit and proceed with the state
change. All overrides are recorded in the activity log of the current
document.
This dialog box displays the following information:
- Workflow
Action:The action you attempted to perform that conflicted with the limit of
authority.
- <Document>
Amount:The value of the document for which you attempted to change the state.
- Authorization
Limit:The dollar amount limit for your security role for the attempted state
change. If this value is lower than the <Document>
Amount, the state change is halted and the Limited
Authority dialog box appears.
If this field displays Not Authorized,
then your security role is not included in the limits of authority specified
for this state change.
- Override
Limit:This field shows whether your security role can override the limit of
authority and proceed with the state change. If a value is displayed,
you can proceed with the state change provided that this value is greater
than or equal to the <Document>
Amount. If No Limit is
displayed, you can always proceed with the state change regardless of
the <Document> Amount.
If No Override Allowed is displayed, you cannot override your authorization
limit under any circumstances.
If this field displays Not Authorized,
then your security role is not included in the limits of authority specified
for this state change.
Your available options depend on your Override
Limit for the document/state combination:
- If you can override
the limit, you may proceed with the state change by typing a reason for
the override in the Override Notes
field and then clicking Override.
The override notes are recorded in the document's activity log in the
Details field.
- If you cannot or
do not wish to override the limit, click Close
and then contact a user with a higher authorization limit to complete
the state change.
