Splitting an Allocation

You can split an allocation into two or more new allocations. Proliance distributes the value of the original allocation evenly among the new allocations. If necessary, you can edit these values.

Additionally, if you split a budget allocation in a cost account, Proliance gives you the option of splitting any offsetting cost allocations.

 To split an allocation

  1. Open the document containing the allocation to split and then click Edit.

  2. Click the (Budget/Cost) Line Items page of the document and then select the allocation to split.

  3. Click Split.

  4. The Split Line Item dialog box appears.

  5. Enter the number of new allocations you want to create. Click OK.

  6. If the original allocation has a budget offset, Proliance gives you the option to split the offsetting cost allocations.

Proliance splits the allocation into the number of new allocations that you specified and then distributes the value of the original allocation evenly among the new allocations.

Note:

  • Proliance treats the newly created allocations as separate entries and does not enforce their sum to equal the original amount. You may adjust this manually, if required.
